BlepFX Unveils Free Distortion Plugin ‘Destruqtor’ For macOS, Windows, and Linux

BlepFX, an emerging indie developer in the digital music scene, has released its latest plugin, “Destruqtor,” available for free download. You can find the download link below.

Destruqtor is a versatile distortion/saturation/exciter plugin that works by applying expanding compression before the waveshaper, followed by opposing compression after, ensuring transient clarity and warmth without compromising the dynamic range.

While Destruqtor keeps things simple with only a handful of controls, it delivers powerful results. Whether you want to push your sound into total destruction or just add a touch of subtle saturation for extra warmth and punch, this plugin has you covered.

The clean, resizable interface features an intuitive X/Y pad that lets you manipulate the balance of odd and even harmonics. Additionally, the filter cutoff slider works alongside the X/Y pad, allowing you to target specific frequencies for distortion while leaving others untouched, giving you more precise control over the effect.

With these controls, Destruqtor lets you achieve more refined distortion or saturation than many traditional plugins, preserving the intricate details of your sound.

One neat feature is the VU meter, which automatically adjusts the gain when double-clicked, matching the input and output levels based on the last 5 seconds of signal. Of course, you can still set the gain manually if you prefer.

BlepFX offers a terminal-based installer, with guides for macOS (using Terminal) and Windows (using PowerShell). Alternatively, you can manually install the plugin by dropping the CLAP/VST3 files into the appropriate folders (a guide is included). macOS users may need to disable Gatekeeper for the plugin to function properly.
