YouTube Music announces free background playback for non-Premium users too.
Currently, YouTube Music App only allows free background playback for those who have subscribed to YouTube Premium. If anyone who is not a paying customer, cannot minimize the app. If he/she switches to any other app or turns the screen off, the playback simultaneously stops.
But for the benefit of the customers and facilitating them to listen to music without any interruption, this new feature will enable every normal YouTube user to play music in the background timelessly. The feature will be first available in Canada starting from November 3.
They will have access to radio station features and create playlists. Also if someone uploads any song, they will be able to play it any time too.
However, this ‘free tier’ comes with ad-feature and if anyone wishes to skip the ads between listening to music, they will have to subscribe to the Premium Plan.
