Tilr Unveils FREE QDelay, A Dual-Delay Plugin with a Unique Twist

Tilr, the go-to name for impressive free plugin developers, has kicked off 2026 with a bang by releasing QDelay, a dual-delay plugin that’s packed with features. As we dive into this latest release, it’s worth reminiscing about Tilr’s previous offerings in 2025. REEV-R convolution reverb, FILT-R modulated filter, TIME-1 and TIME-12 GATE-1 and GATE-12, and TIME-12 all made Tomislav’s top 15 free plugins from that year – if you’re new to Tilr, it’s definitely worth checking them out.

Now, let’s get back to QDelay. This multi-mode, dual-delay plugin boasts independent delay times, which is impressive in itself. But what really sets it apart is the sheer number of ways you can alter the delay style/time. You’ve got Normal, Ping-Pong, and Tap modes to start with, and then there are options like Feedback and Width controls, odd/even tap accenting, offset swing and feel, and even ducking the delayed signal. It’s clear that QDelay is designed to create chaotic or controlled musical echoes.

But what really gets interesting is when you start to mess around with the tone and sound-altering options. You’ve got pitch shifting (feedback or post-delay signal), which can create subtle detuning or more jarring dissonance. And then there’s the EQ, Saturation, and Tape sections – the parametric EQ lets you shape the feedback and input signal, while the Saturation with Color, Bias, Dynamics, and Drive controls adds a bit of analog flavor. The Tape section takes it even further, with Wow and Flutter settings that add variation without going wild.

What I love about QDelay is that it’s more than just a typical delay plugin – it’s a versatile tool that can be used in a variety of contexts. Whether you’re looking for subtle(-ish) effects or something more dramatic, QDelay has got you covered. And with its collection of presets across several categories, you’ll have no shortage of inspiration to get creative.

In the end, QDelay is a very bright start to the year for Tilr – and a potential indicator of bigger and better things to come. Download: QDelay (Free)”
