On his New Debut EP, Pune based Singer-Songwriter opens the door to his music world for the listeners. Kal Aaj Aur Kal released on 11th April 2020, surfaced with a presale of 100 copies in a very short period of time. Bringing the sound of the future with his 6 track EP, the singer covers a spectrum of feelings in the mini-album. From “Rooyi” which is a feel-good New-Age Pop song to the intense “Kya Woh Tum Thi”, which has a lot of orchestral string work depicting the darker side of a relationship. Since Lakshya’s vocals are multifaceted, all his tracks have different hues based on the story that the song aims to tell. While each of the songs have a distinct sound, they come together perfectly as a series of phases of the songwriter’s life.
The album has been single-handedly composed by Lakshya and is based on excerpts from the various phases in his life. And the production duties are handled by WhiteWine Studios, Pune.
Lakshya has always wanted to create a niche space for himself, be it in the commercial or the indie scene. From as far back as he can remember, he knew that he was destined to be a musician, even if it meant taking the slightly longer route of engineering school and IT offices to get there. His performances are both familiar and inventive – a groovy mix of excitement and nostalgia, ensuring much foot-tapping and singing-along amongst his listeners.
The Bangalore-born songwriter has been a part of reality shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, The Voice and MTV Roadies and has also led vocals for projects like Mannfarid & TMKC. He is a playback singer and an award-winning performer with accolades like Most Versatile LIVE Performer – IEA (South-East Asia), Best Unplugged Singer – IFA (Goa) and Sony MIX: Mix Voice of Pune, just to name a few. ‘Kal Aaj Aur Kal’ marks his debut into the Indie Music Space and that his unique sound is here to stay.
